La Antena
There comes a time in life when one has to spend time contacting the Better Business Bureau, the WIPO and similar organizations...
Anywho, the 31st Portland International Film Festival is underway since the 7th of Feb and all I managed to see was one film - La Antena (The Aerial), an Argentine film by Esteban Sapir. I haven't seen a film quite like it - sort of a silent movie studded with metaphors of voice and word (voz y palabra) but evokes great emotions nevertheless. [See trailer on YouTube.]
The Portland Jazz Festival is also going on this week. It's been a nice, crisp, sunny day today. The past weekend was nice too. Worked up the soil last Saturday. With these many good things in this world, I just sigh to think of people who have to make a living out of other people's mistakes or unfortunate situations. I wish I could treat Cheryle Hayes or Dori Friend to a nice Oregon outing rather than imagine them snatching personal domain names for marketing or using the concept of SEO at the expense of real people behind those names.
